Death of Mr. George Layton. Mr. George Y. Layton, one of Bartow’s well known and popular citizens, died at his home at the Mrs. Memmler place, on West Market street, on Thursday last. Mr. Layton had lived all his life in Bartow county and by his genial manner and honorable course had won many friends who sorrow at his death. He had but lately moved from his farm, eight miles from the city, on the Tennessee road, to the city, so as to get the benefit of the schools. He leaves a wife and eleven children. He was about fifty years of age. The funeral took place Friday and his remains were interred at the Smith family burying ground, a few miles northeast of the city. Rev. A. J.
