Ralph Lamar Knight, of Route 2, Cartersville, died Sunday, following a sudden illness.

He is survived by his wife, the former Sarah Wheeler; two daughters, Mrs. George Evans, Oxford, Alabama; and Mrs. Robert Wade, Cartersville; four sons, Dan Knight, Donald Knight, Billy Knight, and Harry Knight, all of Cartersville; a brother, Luther Knight; a sister, Mrs. Carl Culver, both of Cartersville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Pat Kennedy officiating.  Interment was in the Church of God of the Union Assembly Cemetery.

Mr. Knight was born in Bartow County June 06, 1907.  He was a retired miner and was a member of the Center Baptist Church.

[NOTES: Obituary listed the cemetery as “Church Holiness,” but I listed the Church of God since that is where he is buried.  Sister Mrs. Carl Culver is Helen Jewel Knight.  Ralph was the son of James Knight and Prudy Johnson.]
