Grady W. Knight, 72, of Route 6, Cartersville, died Sunday, December 4, 1983, following a lingering illness.

He was a native of Bartow County, a Baptist and a retired employee of the Department of Transportation.

A son of the late John M. Knight and Nora Tidwell Knight, he is survived by his widow, Louella Branton Knight; three daughters, Mrs. James (Barbara) Bennett, Mrs. Randall (Linda) McIntyre and Mrs. Michael (Jane) Waits, all of Cartersville; one brother, Herman Knight, Cartersville; three sisters, Lora Howard, Woodstock; Sue Howell, White and Corrine Knight, White; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Knight, March 27, 1934.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with the Revs Randy Gregg and Fred Lee officiating.  Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were David Knight, Joe McIntyre, Harold Howell, Jimmy Howell, Jerry Don Knight and Jeff Dittmer.
