Mrs. Susan Marcella Barger Kay, 74, of 226 John Kay Road, Taylorsville, died Sunday, June 19, 1994 at Cartersville Medical Center.
    
Mrs. Kay was born in Stilesboro, the daughter of William Barger and Ella Owens Barger.  She was a member of Taylorsville Baptist Church and was retired from Union Carbide.  She was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy as a WAVE nurse.  She was preceded in ndeath by a sister, Gustavia Shepherd.
    
Survivors include her husband, Charles Kay, one daughter Teresa Baynard of Cartersville, two sons, Darrell and Jimmy Kay, both of Taylorsville, seven grandchildren, Tammy Ludwig, Kim Pinion, Jeffrey Baynard, Tabitha Baynard, Deidre, Dustin and Anna Kay, five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Bridget and Bradley Ludwig, Cody Pinion and Christine Kay, two sisters, Eugenia Robinson of Cedartown and Kathleen Wade of Cartersville, one brother, Charles William Barger of Dawsonville.
    
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 1994 at 2 p.m. from Taylorsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Mansfield officiating.  The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
    
The family will receive friends at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Monday.
    
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the Taylorsville Baptist Church at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday and they include Danny and Terry Kay, Jerry Robinson, Lonnie Gentry, Larry Harris and Johnny Campbell.  Honorary pallbearers include: Gene Wade, Dick Harris, Thomas Nelson, Kenneth Waters, Robert C. "Bob" Harris, Donald Cox and Jerry Scott.
    
The Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, is in charge of arrangements.
