CARTERSVILLE - Mrs. Lula Estelle Cornwell Kay, 97, of 107 Summit St., Cartersville, died Monday morning in a Rome nursing home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Kay was born in Bartow County, April 14, 1885, daughter of the late Elijah Cornwell and Martha Hitchcock Cornwell. She had spent the greater part of her life in Bartow County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Kay, who died in 1925.

Survivors include three daughters, Helen Milligan, Punta Gorda, Fla., Louise Paul, Cartersville and Mozelle Cleveland, Ft. Myers, Fla.; three sons, Oscar F. Kay, Acworth, Joe Kay and Marvin Kay, both of Cartersville; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Taylorsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff D. Norman officiating. Interment will be in Taylorsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Carl Pair, Hugh Barber, Paul Kay, Raymond Putman, Eugene Buford and George Buford.
