Mr. Buford Kay, 86, of 791 Peeples Valley Rd., Cartersville, died Saturday, June 19, 1999 at Cartersville Medical Center.

He was born May 13, 1913, in Bartow County, son of the late James Randall Kay and Sallie Katie Pearl Kay. Mr. Kay was employed by Tumpane Corporation as a machinist and security consultant. He was a member of the Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63 F & AM, member of Arab Temple and a member of Cartersville Shrine Club #13, Chapter 144 Royal Arch Masons. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Bessie Kay.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Jean Caldwell of Cartersville; grandchildren, Shane Edwards and Russell Kay, both of Cartersville; nieces and nephews, Thomas Bagwell of Lakeland, Fla., Allen Edwards of Acworth, Harry Kay and Charlotte Gentry both of White and Betty Jean Lay of Calhoun and a special friend, Geneva Everitt of Cartersville.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, 1999 in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Rabern officiating. Interment will be in Woffords Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery, with full Masonic Graveside Rites.

Pallbearers will be the members of the Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63 F & AM. They are asked to meet at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

The Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville is in charge of the arrangements.
