Linford A. Abernathy, of Cartersville, Route 2, died Sunday following an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Herman Howell, Cartersville; a step-daughter, Mrs. H.R. Berry, Chattanooga; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3 PM from the Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Nat Abernathy and the Rev. Rowland Lee officiating. Interment was in the old Macedonia Cemetery.

Mr. Abernathy, 75, was a native of Bartow County and was a retired State Highway Department employee.
