Hoyt P. (Sid) Howell, 79, of Rowland Springs Road, Cartersville, died Tuesday, November 13, 1990.

He was born May 2, 1911 in Bartow County, a son of the late Martin and Eva Knight Howell, a retired service station owner and operator, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Center Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Bonnie Newberry Howell of Cartersville; two daughters and son-in-law, June and Ron Coleman of Folly Beach, South Carolina; Johnnie Sue Clark of Cartersville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Glenda Howell and David and Carolyn Howell, Cartersville; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Emogene Brooks and Myrtle Abernathy of Cartersville; two brothers, Herman and Harold Howell, Cartersville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. from Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Sammy Adams and the Rev. Martin Brooks officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Bohannon, Tony Howell, Ricky Davis, Tim Howell, Keith Clark and Tim Arp.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Kennemer, Lewis Tidwell, Bill Williams, Jim Smith, Lon Bearden and Waymon Kirkland.
