Sudden Death of a Valuable Citizen.

On Saturday night last, says the Montgomery Mail of the 26 inst., the servants hearing an unusual noise in the bed room of Mr. Wm. Hilliard, went in and discovered that venerable gentleman in the article of death.  He had retired in apparently good health, a few hours before, and, we believe, was attacked with congestion of the brain, of which he thus speedily died.

The deceased was nearly 80 years of age.  He was the father of our distinguished fellow citizen Hon. H. W. Hilliard.  Those who knew him regarded him as a man of fine mind, varied information, and most agreeable manners.  He has departed in the ripeness of his age.
