W. L. Hickman Killed—Knocked from an engine and crushed under a train.

A dispatch from Cedartown, August 29 says: This city was shocked today by a horrible tragedy in the death of one of its prominent citizens, Colonel W. L. Hickman. He was general manager of the North Georgia Mining Company, a large mining Corporation of Polk county….He was a Kentuckian, belonging to a prominent family at Hopkinsville. He married Miss Mattie Banks, a daughter of Mr. Joseph Banks, the president of the First National of Gainesville, Ga., and the couple have been among Cedartown’s most popular society people. The funeral will be attended tomorrow by a large throng of people. The remains will be interred in the city cemetery in Cedartown.
