T. W. Henson, Aged Citizen, Died Saturday

Tillman Wesley Henson, 95, perhaps Cartersville’s oldest citizen, died at the home of his son, Elbert Henson, 535 Erwin street, Saturday, April 21st, after a lingering illness.

Last rites were conducted at Oak Hill church Saturday at 11 a.m., Rev. J. A. McPherson reading the services. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery under direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Mr. Henson was born in Cherokee county, Georgia, March 22nd, 1849. His parents were John Henson and Lucy Wheeler Henson of South Carolina. He was a member of the Baptist church and had devoted his life to farming. His wife, who preceded him in death was Pamelia (sic) Garrison.

Surviving members of the family are one daughter, Mrs. Eva (sic) Mae Goss, and two sons, Elbert and Paul Henson, all of Cartersville, also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
