Amanda E. Henderson departed this life April 23rd, 1908.  She was born February 25, 1844, was married to I. D. Henderson September 17, 1867.  She had been a consistent member of the Methodist church for forty years.  She leaves surviving her I. D. Henderson, her husband, five sons, three daughters, a large number of grandchildren, four brothers and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her departure.

She was conscious up to the very last, talking to her people and friends exhorting them to live for God.  She died praising Him in whom she had so long trusted.

Mrs. Henderson was an active worker in and for the church and for the cause of Christ.  She leaves to her friends and people the heritage of an upright, exemplary and Christian character. [This obituary is repeated in the April 30, 1908 issue, page 8 with the addition of a verse:

Asleep in Jesus she rests,
Free from sorrow and care,
Where the Good are forever blest,
How happy ‘twill be to meet her there.

A Brother.]
