A Sad Death.

Saturday morning, when the sad, but not unexpected, news of the death of Miss Gertie Head became known, a gloomy shadow was thrown upon our little city.

She has long been a sufferer, but at last her sufferings have ceased – her soul has taken its flight to the eternal God.  Miss Gertie was sixteen years old and was the daughter of the late J. D. Head.  Some weeks ago it was our painful duty to chronicle the death of Mrs. Head, and now it is the daughter.  Verily, “the old must die, but the young may die.”

The deceased was converted and joined the church at our bush-arbor meeting two years ago, and has since that time lived a devoted Christian life.  She was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery Saturday evening.

We tender the sister and two brothers our heart-felt sympathy in this their sore bereavement.
