Died.

Mrs. Hayes, wife of Mr. Wash Hayes, died at her home in this place on last Thursday, after a short illness.  She had been sick only nine days, and suffered intensely from a sore throat and lung affliction.  She was a true Christian, and a devout and faithful member of the Baptist church.  She was a good wife and mother, a charitable and friendly neighbor.

Mrs. Hayes was the mother of eighteen children, fourteen of whom now sleep beside her in the old burial ground out beyond the Baxter place.  We sympathize with the husband and children in this their sad affliction.
