Alton Harwell Buried Sunday

Funeral services for Mr. Alton J. Harwell, 31 years of age, popular young business man of Cartersville, who died at his home late Friday afternoon, after suffering one week from an attack of pneumonia, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, at the4 Baptist Tabernacle, with Rev. George V, Crow, conducting the services.

Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery, and the following gentlemen served as pall-bearers: Messrs. Frank Hendricks, Olin Hendricks, Arthur Neal, Mack Thomas, Cell Thomas and Fred Hendricks. Arrangements were in charge of Jackson's funeral directors.

Mr. Harwell is survived by his widow and six children, four daughters and two sons- Frances, Mabel, Dorothy, Betty, Alton, Jr., and Billy Frank Harwell; three brothers, Carl Harwell , of Cartersville; Evans Harwell, of Washington, D.C.; and Harry Harwell, of Chicago; and one sister, Miss Alline Harwell, Cartersville.

At the time of his death, Mr. Harwell was director of the road forces of the county, and was considered one of the most capable men for this job in this section. Prior to going with the county, he had operated a garbage and auto sales department here. He was a member of the Cartersville band, and one of its strongest supporters, for several years past.
