Leonard (Son) Harris, a veteran of World War I, died at his residence, Rome, Rte. 4, last Tuesday evening following an extended illness.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Julia Harris; five stepchildren, Mrs. Ada Norris, Mrs. Sarah Hammock, Bennie Childers, Frank Childers, all of Rome, and Riley Childers of Akron, Ohio. C.J. Childers, several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

The family will receive friends at the Harris residence, Rome, Rte. 4, and the body will remain at Wilder’s Funeral Home to await the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Gore Spring A.M.E. Church. The Rev. W.A. Williams will officiate with burial in Gore Spring Cemetery.
