Alfred Harper Shorter

Alfred Shorter Harper died at the home of his parents in Rome, on Wednesday evening of last week, of consumption. Mr. Harper went about a year ago to a locality in the west recommended for consumptives, hoping to be cured, but the disease was too well fastened on his system to be shaken off. He was a young journalist of considerable talent and possessed a warm genial nature and was much beliked by all who knew him.
