DEATHS IN CHEROKEE

Two of our friends in Cherokee county have died recently. Mrs. Emeline Harp, wife of Dr. A. C. Harp, departed this life on the 20th of Sept.  We knew her long and well, and feel assured that death to her is endless gain. She was a frail creature, having spent the most of her earthly pilgrimage in affliction’s vale.  She was a devoted member of the Methodist church, and was always glad when it was said “Let us go up to the house of the Lord to worship.”  Her’s was a meek and quiet spirit, and the law of kindness was the rule of her life.  A husband, three children and many friends mourn her loss.  May they all follow her example of quietness, patience, assurance and hope, and meet her in the Paradise of God where the days of their mourning shall end!

[The other death referred to in this article is Martin Boger. See separate obituary for Mr. Boger.]
