Mr. Thomas V. Hargis died suddenly at 9:20 clock on Tuesday morning. He has been a great sufferer from heart trouble for several years and this last attack came upon him last week and his dear loved ones were informed by the attending physicians that he could not live but a few days, but still when death claimed the sufferer it was a great shock.

Mr. Hargis lacked only about one month of being 69 years of age. He was born in Roxboro, N, C., in 1836. His father and mother moved to Georgia during his infancy and settled at the old Hargis homestead, then Cass county, where young Hargis was reared to man hood.

He was married in 1858 to Miss Eliza J. Fuller, of Adairsville, Ga. The issue of that marriage was five children, all of whom survive him, namely: Mrs. McKelvey, Mrs. Mattie Rodgers, Miss Hattie Lee Hargis, Frank Hargis and Charlie Hargis.
