Death of Mr. J. J. Haney.

Mr. J. J. Haney died at his home near town last Saturday evening, after a lingering illness lasting through several weeks.

Mr. Haney was one of the substantial farmers of Bartow and has been a resident of this county since 1866, coming here from Polk county, Tenn. He raised a family of four boys and one girl, all of whom are grown and married. He lost his wife a year or two ago and last September was married to Miss Octavia Puckett, who survives him.

Mr. Haney was in his sixty-ninth year, and had been a man of remarkable vigor up to a few months ago when his health began to fail. He was loved and respected by a large circle of friends, who sympathize with his family in the loss of a devoted husband and father.
