Mrs. Sarah Hammock, Rome Rte. 4, died in a Rome hospital Thursday following an extended illness.

Survivors include her children, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Childers of Rome Rte. 4; one aunt, Mrs. Bert Fletcher; one uncle, Jack Fletcher, all of Rome, her mother, Mrs. Julia Harris; one sister, Mrs. Ada Norris; three brothers, Bennie Childers and Frank Childers, all of Rome Rte. 4 and Riley Childers of Akron, Ohio; other relatives.

The body will lie in state at Wilder’s Funeral Home until the funeral hour; friends will meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Gore Spring Methodist Church. The Rev. W.A. Williams will officiate with burial in Gore Spring Cemetery.
