Death of Mrs. Gilbert

Mrs. Mary J. Gilbert died at the home of her son, Mr. A. D. Gilbert, in this city yesterday morning at 10 o’clock. Mrs. Gilbert was the wife of Mr. W. H. Gilbert, who preceded her to the grave about twelve years ago. She was born in Hancock county, Ga., but has been a resident of this county since a short time after the late war. She was sixty-four years old, and her whole life has been that of a noble, Christian woman. She leaves two sons and three daughters to mourn the loss of a devoted mother, and a large circle of friends who will miss her genial company.

Her remains will be buried from the Presbyterian church this morning at ten o’clock, and will be laid by the side of her husband at Oak Hill cemetery.
