Mr. Reuben Gaines Dead.

Mr. Reuben Gaines, one of the oldest and best known farmers in the county, died at his home, in Ooothcaloga Valley, four miles north of Adairsville, one day last week.  He had been in bad health for some time.  He was the father of Mr. Lewis Gaines, of Cave, and an uncle of Mrs. A. M. Foute and Mrs. J. M. Neel, of this city.  His remains were interred at the Baptist church just north of Adairsville.

Henry W. Gaines, Mattie Benson, Mary B. Thomas, James M. Gaines, Mrs. Alice Gaines, Mrs. Emma B. Dyar, Milton P. Gaines, Mrs. L. E. Alford, Mrs. Ellona Anderson, Mrs. Mattie Carson, Mrs. Anna Cartlidge, J. O. Gaines and Mrs. Susan L. Gray.

No. 10, January Term 1901; in the Superior Court of Bartow county, Georgia.  Petition to have the last will of Reuben Gaines construed; to ascertain the assets of his estate; for direction to the executor in the administration thereof; for the winding up and settlement of the same; for distribution to the legatees and devisees under said will and for general relief.

To the defendants in above stated case, who are non-residents of the state of Georgia, to-wit: Milton P. Gaines, Mrs. L. E. Alford, Mrs. Ellona Anderson, Mrs. Mattie Carson, Mrs. Anna Cartlidge, J. O. Gaines and Mrs. Susan L. Gray, all residents of the state of Texas.

You are each and all hereby notified and commanded, to be and appear at the next term of the superior court, to be held in and for the county of Bartow, in the state of Georgia, on the second Monday in January, 1901, then and there to answer the complaint of petitioners in the above stated case.  Done by order of the judge of said court, granted in said case on August 21st, 1900.
