Mr. Wilborn Taft Franklin, 80, of 1891 Plainview Road, S.E., Adairsville, died Thursday night, ,June 13, 1991, at 10:30 p.m. at Gordon Hospital following a sudden attack. He was born in Gordon County October 10, 1910, son of the late Lee A. Franklin and Mattie Stevens Franklin. He was a member of the Glade Baptist Church, a retired farmer, and a veteran of World War II where he served with the U.S. Army. Survivors include a nephew and niece, Jerry and Tinsey Erwin of Calhoun; two great nephews, Shon Erwin of Armuchee and Tim Erwin of Calhoun; a great-niece, Judith Erwin of Calhoun, and special friends, Don and Bertha Dempsey and family of the Plainview community. Funeral was Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. from Plainview Baptist Church with Revs. G.W. Shaw and Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Doug Dempsey, Larry Dempsey, Terry Mathis, Marvin Blalock, Junior Baker, and Buddy Bunch. R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, was in charge of arrangements. |
