Corbin.

Death visited our quiet community Sunday and claimed for victim, Mr. Alex Ferguson, one of our oldest and most respected citizens and confederate soldiers.  He had been in feeble health for some years, until some months ago he was taken worse and again rallied much, until last week, he was taken serious and continued to grow worse until 11:45 o’clock Sunday evening, when death relieved him.  His remains were laid to rest in the Chitwood family cemetery Monday evening, Rev. A. F. Roberts conducted the funeral services.  He leaves a widow and three sons to mourn for him.
