Jewel C. Moss Elrod, 80, of Elrod Road, Rydal, died Sunday, March 14, 1999.

Mrs. Elrod was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Bartow County, a daughter of Keller Moss and Cora Kilby Moss, a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Rydal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John D. Elrod; a sister, Elease Hawkins; and three brothers, Doyle, Buddy and Wayne Moss.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Louise E. and Chuck Young of Rydal; a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Marie Elrod of Rydal; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ozell Rutledge of Cartersville, Wylene (Billie) Richards of White, and Burma Tuggle of White; one brother, J.B. Moss of Cartersville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Oak Hill Baptist Church in Rydal with the Rev. Boyd Manis, the Rev. Leroy Kelly, and the Rev. Billy Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Darrell and Jody Elrod, Harvey Evans, Wallace (Bobo) Young, Billy Moss and Jerry Dean Mulkey.

The family will receive friends at the Owen Funeral Home on Monday, March 15, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
