Kingston. The remains of Mr. Charles Eddy, who was shot at Soddy, Tennessee, last Saturday week, and died last Thursday night, arrived here Friday night in charge of his father. He was buried Saturday. His remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of sad and sympathizing friends. His mother is so near heart broken that she is not able to be taken home and is now at the Couche House. The distress of the aged father and mother and two sisters was sad indeed. They have the deep sympathy of our entire community. ******************** August 12, 1884 In Memoriam. Charles Kingston Eddy, son of Nelson H. and Georgia Beverly Eddy, died at Rathburn, Tennessee, July 31st, 1884, from the effects of a pistol shot. He was 29 years, 9 months and two days old. As a son, he was dutiful and obedient; as a brother, kind and affectionate; as a citizen, loyal and conservative; in all the relations of life, honorable and upright. He was truly an honest man: the noblest work of God. To his grief-stricken parents we offer our tenderest sympathy. His memory is embalmed in our hearts. --A Friend. |
