Mrs. Martha Dodgen Buried at Oak Hill Mrs. Martha Dodgen, 79 years of age, one of Cartersville’s best loved women, died at the home of her son, Mrs. (sic) W.C. Dodgen, corner Leake street and South avenue, Sunday evening at seven twenty o’clock, after a long illness, brought about by the infirmities of old age. Funeral services were held at the home of her son, Tuesday morning at ten thirty, and were conducted by Rev. W.S. Robison. Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery, and the following gentlemen serviced as pall-bearers: Messrs. Arthur Neal, Robert Knight, Luther Pettit, Barney Sloan, Hugh Gilreath and Charlie Collins. Arrangements were in charge of Jackson’s funeral directors. Mrs. Dodgen is survived by one son, Mr. W.C. Dodgen, and one grandson, Mr. W.C. Dodgen, Jr. She was given every attention during her illness, and her death is being sincerely mourned by friends of this family. |
