“Round About in Bartow.” Ford. He is dead, was the sad news that reached us on the morning of the 24th inst. And the spirit of Mr. Thompson Dodd passed to its Maker. He was in his eighty-fourth year, and had been a member of the Methodist church from a child. That he was a Christian man, we have no better proof than his daily walk. To the aged wife we tender our heartfelt sympathies; and oh! Father, deal gently with her in her great sorrow, uphold the bruised and almost broken heart with Thy great love, and temper the winds of sorrow for her remaining days with us. And the dear children who will never again know a father’s voice, comfort them as Thou alone can. |
