Death of Dewitt Clinton Dobbins.

This young man died at the home of his mother, on Main street, last Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock, after a long and tedious illness. For about two years he has been a victim of that dread disease, consumption, and for many months he has quietly, patiently and with resignation waited for the end which he knew to be inevitable. Last winter his mother, in the hope of bettering his health, carried him to Florida, but the young man, himself having given up all hope, begged to return to Cartersville where he could die among his friends and kindred.

Mr. Dobbins was twenty-three years of age and his life was spent in and near Cartersville. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a young man liked and esteemed by all who knew him. The remains, accompanied by relatives and friends, were carried to Atlanta yesterday where they were placed in the family vault at Oakland cemetery. The funeral services occurred at the residence at 10:30 o’clock.
