“Doings in Bartow--Ford.” Our community is again made to feel sad over the death of Mrs. Ollie Davis, which occurred on the morning of July 3d, at her home, near Taylorsville, after an illness of several months. This estimable Christian lady was born and reared in our midst and possessed from her childhood a lovable disposition, which has gained an entrance into the affections of all who knew her. In her death the church has lost a pillar, the needy and suffering a friend, the bereaved husband and children a true and devoted wife and mother. We tender our deepest sympathies in their sore distress and hope the Lord will bind up the wounds inflicted to their good and His glory, and in the end have all the sorrowful ones to calmly and quietly rely on Him in whom she believed, so that when they are freed from the earthly prison-house of clay, their spirit may take its flight home to the Paradise of God, whither she has gone. |
