Died. Mrs. Curry, relict of the late Dr. James W. Curry, and mother of Mr. D. W. Curry, and Mrs. Dr. Lindsay Johnson, died at the residence of the latter, on Erwin Street, last Sunday night at 10 o’clock, after an illness of several months. Her remains were interred in Oak Hill Cemetery beside those of her late husband. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. F. M. Daniel, pastor of the Baptist church, to which she had for many years been a consistent and devoted member. In Mrs. Curry was found all the elements of the highest type of noble womanhood. Her character shown resplendent with all the Christian virtues. Her life was spotless, and the purity of its name will live as a rich heritage to her relatives and friends. In her death the church loses one of its best members, and the community a devoted friend. |
