Gabriel H. Culver

When such a man as Mr. Culver dies something more than mere mention of the fact ought to be said.  He was born in Hancock county, Ga., Feb. 22, 1805 and moved to Cass county in 1848.  He has been a consistent member of the Baptist church since 1827, and a deacon since 1867.  He was a quiet, unobtrusive gentleman.  Faithful, truthful and honest in all the relations of life.

His death occurred on February 18th, 1882, from general congestion, which came upon him suddenly.  His loss will be felt in the family circle, in his little church where he delighted to worship God, and in his community.  Yet it is well with him for he has gone to where “the weary are at rest and the wicked cease from troubling.”—G. S. T.
