Mrs. Birma Raines Cox, 76, of 23 Saddlebrook Dr., Cartersville, died Sunday, Dec. 20. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville. Cox, 76, of 23 Saddlebrook Dr. Cartersville, died Sunday, Dec. 20 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Gilmer County, Ga., daughter of the late James Walker Reynolds and Mary Silvers Reynolds. Mrs. Cox was of the Baptist faith and was retired as a machine operator at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Cox, and a son, Robert Raines. Survivors include granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Charisse and Brian Walraven, Cartersville; great grandchildren, Dustin and Alexis Walraven; two sisters, Angie Wilson, and Betty Futral, both of Cartersville; daughter-in-law, Judy Raines, Rydal; three nieces, Teresa Henson, Bobbie Benson and Cheryl Coker, all of Cartersville, and a nephew, Rob Wilson, Cartersville. Funeral services will be held in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 with Rev. Jody Orton officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert H. Wilson, Jr., Michael Orton, Jerry Orton, Gary Benson, Dennis Henson, and Jeff Coker. The family will receive friends at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.[Re-printed with permission from The Daily Tribune News in an effort to help preserve history.] |
