Harrison Conyers

On last Sunday, in this county, 17th district, Mr. James Hammond a young man about 17 years old, son of Mr. Peter Hammond of this county, stabbed a negro named Harrison Conyers, who died from the effects of the wound on Monday evening following. From the best information the killing was clearly justifiable. A coroner’s inquest was held over his body Tuesday. The evidence showed a clear case of justifiable homicide and the jury returned a verdict exculpating the young man.
