Charlie (C.I.) Childers, 69, of Route 4, Chulio Road, Bartow County, passed away at his residence after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Gore Spring A.M.E. Church with the Rev. C.L. Sanders officiating.  Interment will follow in the Gore Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence and the body will remain at the mortuary until Saturday at noon at which time it will be carried to the church to lie in repose there to await the service hour.

Survivors are his loving wife Mrs. Hallie Childers; aunts, Mrs. Ada Norris, Mrs. Grace Watkins, Mrs. Ella Mae Studyvent and Mrs. Sara Wilson; a foster son, David C. Smith.  A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Wright Memorial Mortuary of Rome has charge of arrangements.
