Confederate Vet Goes To Reward.

Mr. Jayson Franklin Chastine, an old Confederate veteran, died at the home of his son, Mr. Homer Chastine, in Kennesaw, on November 24th.  He had a stroke of paralysis about three years ago from which he never fully recovered.

Mr. Chastine was a native of North Carolina, but resided in Bartow county about eight years ago.  At the time of his death he was on a visit to his son at Kennesaw.

Mr. Chastine was the last member of his family consisting of one sister and seven brothers.  Mr. Chastine and all seven brothers fought in the Civil War, three were killed and one died during the war.

He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife and six children.  Rev. John Curley conducted the funeral services and interment was in charge of John W. Jones.
