Phillis Caldwell a very worthy colored woman died on the 26 th January, at 77 years old. She had been a great sufferer for near a year. She was highly respected by white and black. She leaves a husband to mourn her loss. Peter Caldwell her husband wished to tender his thanks to the Misses F. T. and S. W. Howard and other friends for many acts of kindness to his poor afflicted wife in her long illness.
