Tribute of respect.

T. F. Bridges was born in Gwinnett county, Ga., May 22nd 1813, and departed this life at his son-in-law’s, T. L. Smith, two miles west of Cartersville, on May 23d, 1889, making his age 76 years and 1 day. All who knew him could well say that he was an honest man, and that his word was his bond.

He lived in Gwinnett county, Ga., in Ben Smith district, till he was about 23 or 24 years of age, with his mother, his father having died several years previous to that time. In 1832 or 1833 he was married, and in 1836 or 1837 he moved to Bartow county, near Cass Station, with his family, and in 1852 he joined the Baptist church and lived a consistent member up to his death, at which time he had full assurance of a happy home beyond this vale of tears, where sad partings come no more. He was confined to his bed over 12 months before his death. He bore his affliction well up to his death and passed away quietly. He leaves to mourn for him a wife, four sons and three daughters, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of friends. But their loss is his gain.

May God be with, bless, guide, direct and comfort the bereaved ones.—A Friend.
