Mr. Jim C. Bradley, 78, of 1170 Chulio Road, Rome, and formerly of Adairsville, died Sunday evening (Feb. 28, 1999) at Floyd Health Care following a lengthy illness. He was born in Polk County, Jan. 24, 1921, son of the late Dr. Thomas Howard Bradley and Charley Sam Crawford Bradley. He had lived most of his life in Bartow County and was a member of Adairsville Baptist Church. He worked for many years with the Georgia State Highway Dept. and retired after 12 years with Lowins Engineers. He was a veteran, having served in the 3rd Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Howard Bradley in 1985. Survivors include one daughter, Ginger Bradley Thacker of Adairsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Howard T. and Kathy Lee Bradley of Adairsville; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a nephew also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery with military honors. Active pallbearers will be Wes Thacker, Jeff Abernathy, Adam Stensvold and Henry Stensvold. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Price, Hubert Bragg, Arthur Lee Woody, George Hayes, Jim Pelfrey, Jack Brock and Ed Stephens. The family received friends Monday evening at the Barton Funeral Home in Adairsville. R. Dudley Barton and Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, has charge of the arrangements.
