John Bennett

Mr. John Bennett, a well-known farmer residing on the J.L. Johnsey place in the Center community, passed away at his home Monday afternoon at two o’clock.  Rev. Press Cox was in charge of the funeral.  He is survived by his wife and two children, five years and four months of age; and two brothers and two sisters.

Grace Hite

Miss Grace Hite, a beautiful young woman, twenty years old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Hite, passed away at the home of her parents last Tuesday morning at one o’clock, a victim of pneumonia, brought on by influenza.  Her funeral was conducted at the same hour and place as that of Mr. John Bennett; Rev. Mr. Cox preaching both funerals at the same times.  Interment took place immediately afterward in the Johnsey Cemetery.

Miss Hite is survived by her parents; three sisters, Mrs. John Mullins, Miss Nannie Hite, Miss Tinnie Hite; three brothers, Messrs. Alfred, John and Freeman Hite.

[NOTES: Both died of pneumonia.  Grace was the daughter of James Hite and Henrietta Cox.]
