Last Rites for Mrs. Abernathy Held Thursday

Final rites for Mrs. Alice Abernathy, 47, who died at her home here Wednesday afternoon after a short illness, were held from the Macedonia church at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The Rev. W.E. Hembree officiated.  The Owen Funeral Home was in charge, and interment was in the Macedonia cemetery.

Mrs. Abernathy, a native of Bartow County, was the daughter of Liddie Abernathy Howell and Robert Howell.

Survivors are her husband Presley Abernathy to whom she had been married 39 years; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Tanner, of Cartersville; two sisters, Mrs. E.R. Abernathy and Mrs. W.E. Barger of Cartersville, and several nieces and nephews.
