Cass Station.

Last Thursday the 9th was Captain R. R. Hargis’ birthday and as usual, on such occasions, was remembered by the presence of his children that were absent.  They gathered from their homes to be present at the birthday dinner and to enjoy themselves together.  Mr. Harry Hargis, of Monroe, N. C., and his three boys, “Tom, Dick and Harry,” Mr. Bob Hargis, of Kingston, Mrs. T. Q. Richardson, of Etowah, Tenn., with her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Conway, and the crowning surprise of the family was on Wednesday night when the Rome express rolled up, Mr. Will Hargis, second son of the Captain made his appearance with his bride.  This completed the immediate family group.  They had been married since the 27th of August, but had not informed any of the family except Miss Ruby and she had kept the secret inviolate until their arrival.  All were delighted with the new addition to the family.  Mrs. Hargis was formerly Miss Eloise Robinson, of Greenwood, S. C., and is a petite, pretty woman and compares well with her tall handsome husband.  A few friends and a brother of the Captain were also present.  Many returns of the day for them all and when life’s sun has set, may they be a reunited family in heaven.
