The Pauper Farm. Since the 11th of the present month three children have been born—a pair of twins, the mother a widow of a few months, and the other, the mother of which is an unmarried woman. Two other unmarried women there will become mothers in a few weeks. These women are represented to us by Mr. Collins as young, fat and saucy. There have been three deaths since January 1st, and there are 27 inmates. ******************** Kingston Items. We noticed Tom Hargis walking around town with an unusual smile and lifting his feet as high as a blind horse. Enquiring the cause we learned it was a boy—a 12 pounder at that. |
