The Pauper Farm.

Since the 11th of the present month three children have been born—a pair of twins, the mother a widow of a few months, and the other, the mother of which is an unmarried woman.  Two other unmarried women there will become mothers in a few weeks.  These women are represented to us by Mr. Collins as young, fat and saucy.  There have been three deaths since January 1st, and there are 27 inmates.

We noticed Tom Hargis walking around town with an unusual smile and lifting his feet as high as a blind horse.  Enquiring the cause we learned it was a boy—a 12 pounder at that.
