Seven men charged with complicity in the murder of the negro George Wright, at Cora’s mill in this county, some weeks since, and investigation was had before Magistrates Milner and Maddox, in this place on Tuesday and Wednesday last, have been committed to jail to await their trial before the superior court, to-wit: Drummond, Harris, Countryman, Wade, Betingfield. Fulton and Garrison. Bettingfield turned State’s evidence. Wednesday, 39th (sic), has been set to try Fulton for perjury. |
