The Standard, our worthy and handsome competitor and neighbor, across the street, made its appearance in our sanctum, today, Wednesday) looking as neat as a lass in her Sunday clothes. Well done for Cartersville! Who says that she is not on rising grounds—two newspapers now total to the balance of the world what a great and enterprising people we are, and what a fine soil and climate we have. We welcome the Cartersville Standard to our exchange list, and wish our worthy contemporaries, Messrs. Wikle & Wood, great success. May we as public journalists, never have cause for strife between us, but may the Standard and Express, as in days of yore, be good friends and kind neighbors. |
