We are glad to learn that Rev. C. A. Evans, the esteemed pastor of the Methodist E. Church in this place, contemplates fixing up the old grave yard on Petit’s Creek where old Ebenezar church formerly stood.  This is a step in the right direction.  We also recommend that the new Baptist church grave yard be carried through the same process; and more particularly as the work of resurrecting the remains of the Federal soldiers has just closed, which makes the graveyard look very ragged.  This grave yard is situated on a beautiful eminence overlooking the town, and the burial of the dead, at that point should be discontinued, except by those who have already commenced burying there, and yard ornamented and enclosed.  It is unfortunate for our town that it was opened there, but as it is too late now to remedy it, let us beautify it, both for the sake of the dear ones whose remains now sleep there, and the town in which it is located.
