A few months ago his store was burglarized twice in quick succession, and heavy losses sustained. Tuesday night a burglar entered his house and stole a valuable watch and other jewelry. Joe Blackburn, the negro who committed the theft, was chased for over twenty miles, finally captured and placed in jail here. Last night thieves stole all his wagon and buggy harness and to add to his woes, he had two sons lying at the point of death. His wife died three weeks ago. |
