She Killed Her Baby.

A Negro Mother Probably Let Her Child Starve.

Maggie Mills, a negro woman living at Cochran’s mill, about five miles north of Rockmart has been arrested for the murder of an infant child.

A short time ago some unknown parties gave to Maggie Mills an infant negro about 3 months old. About two weeks ago the child disappeared. Maggie Mills was accused of making away with it, and after about two weeks she confessed that she had hid the child in a hollow log about one mile from her home. Search was made and the child was found dead in the place described by her. No marks of violence appeared on the infant and the opinion is that it died of starvation.
