Baptized At the Age of 102.

Hawkinsville, Aug. 5. – Old Uncle Red Thomas, a worthy colored man well known here since Hawkinsville was a swamp, professed religion and was baptized here yesterday evening. He was aged 102 years. There was considerable feeling among both white and colored as the white headed old man made his way into the water.

A case of hydrophobia was developed here last Monday. Normal Doyle, colored, sixteen years old, was bitten by a rabid dog on the 19th of June. The wound healed, and on Sunday he complained of a severe pain at the place of the bite. Drs. Jones and Bradley were with him all night Monday night, and pronounced it a clear case of hydrophobia. His sufferings are intense. At times he is rational, and tells any one to keep out of the way.
